Fishguard is the major ferry link for Pembrokeshire to Rosslare, Ireland. There are excellent new terminal facilities.
This setting has been used for several films including Under Milkwood and Moby Dick.
It was here that the last invasion of Britain took place in 1797 and a tapestry depicting scenes from the battle is housed in the town.
A major attraction is the International Music Festival held in July/August – well worth a visit.
For a week of all things fishy – fish to eat, fishing to do, cooking fish to learn about, etc., etc. – come to the annual Pembrorkeshire Fish Festival usually held late June / early July.
